The relationship that famous artists had with food is often extreme: either ultra-healthy or toxic.

On the side of healthy eating we have Georgia O’Keeffe. The artist revolutionised modern painting while simultaneously being passionate about culinary art. She prepared meals with vegetables and fruits from her own garden.
Another representative of healthy relationships with food is, surprisingly, Picasso. He became obsessed with maintaining a strict Mediterranean diet consisting of fish, vegetables, and grapes.
On the opposite side is Andy Warhol, a lover of sweets and canned foods, which he also included in his famous works.

As for chocolate, sculptor Beatrice Wood said, “I owe everything to art books, chocolate, and young men.”

Artists’ Recipes is an illustrated book featuring recipes collected from contemporary artists, such as Marina Abramović, Anish Kapoor, and Ólafur Elíasson.
